After acquiring the Chestnut in the summer of 2006, Gord and Karen ....
Brought to John's Little Boat Shop in September - work began shortly after arrival. What was initially thought to be a cosmetic job (sanding, staining, varnishing) turned out to be more involved once John discovered some rotting ribs. Thus, disassembling, and rib making began....
Sadly, a computer malfunction, and problems with satellite hosting services resulted in many images being 'lost in the shuffle'... thus (unless we get lucky and find them on a disk or external harddrive) the finishing stages of the Chestnut are not available, other than this picture taken after final varnishing:
After a total restoration, Gord and Karen picked up "The Duchess"in May to take to their cottage on Jack Lake.
