BILL and JAN PARIS'

1955, 19ft. Port Carling Boatworks SeaBird "Pixie"

The History

Originally sold in 1955 by Jack Paris (Paris Marine, Lakefield, Ont.) to a customer on Clear Lake, and 2 years later  bought back by Jack who began offering "Stoney Lake Cruises" at a fee of $5.00 per person (maximum 5) originating  at Young's Point. The cruise would go to Burleigh Falls, Mount Julian and Juniper Island. These cruises ran for about  10 years and then Jack used the boat only on occasion for his personal use as his growing boat and real-estate  business kept him too busy to have much leisure time.
"Pixie" was last used by Jack in 1982 and was then put in storage Young's Point until he passed away in Dec. of '99.
Jack had purchased a second 19' SeaBird in 1960 and it was put directly into storage. Both boats are 1955 and in  mint condition, and are only one license number apart: 36E 884 and 36E 885.
The 2 SeaBirds were left to sons Bill and Noel.
Both boats are currently used on a regular basis and can be seen running around Clear or Stoney Lakes. Pixie was the  proud recipient of "Best SeaBird in Show" Award at the 2007 Gravenhurst show, and also received special mention  for the historical story.

We were honoured to have "Pixie" come to the shop for a touch-up of a fresh coat of varnish and re-chroming. A  truly beautiful vessel!
