1953, 18 ft. Lyman Islander, "Harbour Town"

BOAT HISTORY

We’ve had a connection to this unique Lyman for many years. It was originally owned by an elderly neighbour at our previous house. When he decided to part with in 2005, a family member decided to buy it for use at their cottage. We enjoyed using it around the lake with its unique dual helm setup.

In 2019, he decided to sell it as it wasn’t getting any use since they had another woody that they used regularly.

A customer who had contacted us to varnish a small sailboat saw the Lyman when he was at our shop and was immediately interested. He said he’d like to purchase it to use at his marina on Stoney Lake, “provided John refurbish it.” He wanted it to use for special events and weddings.

So, into the shop it came, and she had a complete refinishing. The motor was removed, painted and detailed. Custom grated floors were installed and new upholstery, and canvas was done by Ship ‘N Shore Upholstery. She was given a whole new look, with navy paint and fresh varnish.
